From Martian dust storms to automated food production, from ghost fish surviving the toxic legacy of mining to impossible dreams of mind-to-mind communication and other weird technical mythologies. In a roller coaster of facts and speculation (and sometimes hilarious absurdity), these films trace the industrial not as a functional surface but as a spectre that permeates language, memory, biology, and landscape, revealing systemic projects of domination and redesign of the human.

Curated by 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻 and 𝗚𝗶𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶 for the 5th 𝐼𝑛𝑑𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑙 𝐴𝑟𝑡 𝐵𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑎𝑙.

Béatrice Lartigue: Razkrivanje arhitekture

➡️Béatrice Lartigue: Razkrivanje arhitekture
➡️Odprtje razstave: ponedeljek, 8. september, ob 18. uri
➡️8. 9.–4. 10. 2025
📍 artKIT

Skupaj ti dve deli tketa dialog med prihodnostjo in spominom, metamorfozo in izginotjem in kjer arhitektura postane pripoved in stvar časa.

Biografija

Njena dela so bila razstavljena v Centru Barbican (London), Muzeju Miraikan (Tokio), Centru Pompidou (Pariz), Muzeju Gaîté Lyrique (Pariz), Muzeju D (Seul), Muzeju umetnosti Times (Peking) in Photo Elysée (Lausanne).

The exhibition Unfolding architecture in the projects Invisible Cities and Unfinished City establishes a subtle diptych and dialogue between the past and potential city, where architecture is both the bearer of the collective memory of historical architecture and at the same time a vision for the urban, speculatively generated form of the city’s future. The Unfinished City (2025) embodies an organism in perpetual mutation, which fragments, deconstructs and reborns. Conversely, Invisible Cities (2020) reveals the fragile imprints of monuments, where absence and memory redraw the contours of reality. Together, these two pieces weave a dialogue between future and reminiscence, metamorphosis and disappearance, where architecture becomes narrative and the matter of time. The exhibition invites us to contemplate the city as a living being and the expression of a tangible memory. Biography Since 2008, Béatrice Lartigue has been working on projects at the intersection of art, science and technology. Her work explores the materialisation of invisible physical events, by immersing visitors in a space whose rules are partly written and partly in the making. A critical perspective on the utilisation of technology in a fragile environmental context guides her practice. Her works were exhibited at the Barbican Centre (London), the Miraikan Museum (Tokyo), le Centre Pompidou (Paris), la Gaîté Lyrique (Paris), the DMuseum (Seoul), the Times Art Museum (Beijing), Photo Elysée (Lausanne). Béatrice Lartigue has won several international awards, including from the Sundance Film Festival (New Frontier Selection: Notes on Blindness), the Lumen Prize (Performance Award: Portée/), the GIFF Festival (Philémon). She teaches Media and Interaction Design at Gobelins (Paris) and regularly leads workshops in institutions such as ECAL (Lausanne), Beaux-Arts (Toulouse). < Invisible Cities, plotter drawing, black pen on paper, 2020 ➡️Artist's homepage: https://www.beatricelartigue.com/ ➡️More: http://www.kibla.org/en/sections/artkit/2025/beatrice-lartigue-unfolding-architecture/ 📍artKIT, Glavni trg 14, Maribor 📍Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

𝐵𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝐵𝑜𝑥 is a manifestation of total algorithmically driven curation, encapsulated in the form of a video game. The intermedia installation codes between the physical and virtual realm, tasking players with exploring the inner workings of a deconstructed recommender system that forms, facilitates and amplifies online identities. In a political environment where the overton window is drastically shifting, the complex relations of different ideologies and identity positions can be difficult to fully grasp. The player will navigate this dense memetic landscape by feeding themselves to different filter bubbles and interacting with diverging pills, creating an aesthetic representation of their internet-mediated belief system.
