Skupinska razstava z naslovom Umet(el)no se posveča pomenu t.i. umetnih in umetelnih struktur, materialov in svetov, ki se pojavljajo v različnih sferah vsakdanjega življenja v sodobnem svetu. Kritično naslavlja dvoumno in kompleksno vprašanje delitve na »naravno« in »umetno«, ki se pogosto izkaže za zavajajoč koncept, saj so vsi umetni materiali še vedno rezultat izkoriščanja naravnih virov. Razstava sooča dela in prakse zelo raznolikih umetnikov: Tina Dožića (HR), Simona Goritschniga (AT), Lare Reichmann (SI) in Andree Zabric (AT/SI), ki se na različne načine posvečajo pojavom umetno ustvarjenih objektov in podob, antropogenih struktur, materialov in virtualnih svetov. Razstava sodi v programski ciklus, ki se aktivno posvečajo odnosu človeka do svojega okolja.
Predstavljeni umetniki se s temi občimi in vseobsegajočimi vprašanji ukvarjajo dokaj posredno, iz osebnih in lokaliziranih perspektiv. Njihovi pogledi na navidezno dihotomijo med naravnim in umetnim, med naravo in kulturo, med samoniklim in človeškim, med organskim in anorganskim, med virtualnim in tuzemskim svetom so izrazito eklektični, saj se s pojmovanji in definicijami umetelnosti ukvarjajo iz izrazito partikularnih in osebnih perspektiv. Njihovi umetniški narativi so le fragment v širšem spektru premislekov o teh univerzalnih in vseobsegajočih vprašanjih.
Razstava je v prostorih lapidarija GBJ na ogled do 31. 1. 2027.

The group exhibition entitled Artificial focuses on the meaning of so-called artificial structures, materials, and universes that appear in various realms of everyday life in the modern world. It critically addresses the ambiguous and complex question of the division between “natural” and “artificial,” which often proves to be a misleading concept, since all of artificial materials are still a results of the exploitation of natural resources. The exhibition brings together the works and practices of a wide variety of artists: Tin Dožić (HR), Simon Goritschnig (AT), Lara Reichmann (SI), and Andrea Zabric (AT/SI), who in a very different ways explore the phenomena of artificially made objects and images, anthropogenic structures, synthetic materials, and virtual worlds. The exhibition is part of a programme cycle that actively addresses the relationship between humans and their environment.
The featured artists address these universal and all-encompassing questions rather indirectly, from their own personal and localised perspectives. Their views on the apparent dichotomy between the natural and the artificial, between nature and culture, between the self-grown and man made, between the organic and the inorganic, and between the virtual and the earthly worlds are distinctly eclectic, as they approach concepts and definitions of artificiality from distinctly particular and personal perspectives. However, their artistic narratives are merely a fragment within a broader spectrum of reflections on these universal and all-encompassing questions.
The exhibition in the lapidarium of GBJ is on display until 31 January 2027.
