Tu so obredi plodnosti, iskanje svetega grala, glasovi pesnikov vseh časov – Dante, Ovidij, Shakespeare, Baudelaire – vedeževec Tiresias, glasba Richarda Wagnerja, Budov “ognjeni govor” in klepet v londonskih pubih.
Predstava traja 60 minut.

The Waste Land is considered one of the greatest contributions since Shakespeare’s sonnets – because of its cryptic meaning, its still inimitable power of words, and its revolutionary structure. Together with Joyce’s novel Ulysses, published in the same year, it marked the starting signal for literary modernity and an entirely new type of poetry and storytelling. It brought T. S. Eliot worldwide fame and later the Nobel Prize in Literature. Just as archaeological excavations beneath the pavement of an ancient city reveal relics of past times, so too does this text conceal various layers beneath its surface. There are fertility rites, the search for the Holy Grail, the voices of poets of all ages – Dante, Ovid, Shakespeare, Baudelaire – the seer Tiresias, the music of Richard Wagner, the Buddha’s “Fire Sermon,” and the chatter in London pubs. Everything is interconnected and appears in these verses, spread out over a fragile whole.
The performance lasts 60 minutes.
