Zeliščarka, Svetlana Makarovič in Aphra Tesla

Zeliščarka je performans, prvoosebna pripoved, sklop pesnitve Svetlane Makarovič v soizvedbi zvočne arhitektke Aphre Tesla. Izmenjava Svetlanine poezije ter Aphrinega dela Psalmi: Tod mit Vorteil s primesjo slovanskih in balkanskih ljudskih napevov tematizira bivanjske in ljubezenske izpovedi, postavljene v vlogo arhetipskega lika ženske, ki je kot osrednji motiv predstave nosilka vednosti in posvečenosti.

Svetlana Makarovič je na 36. grafičnem bienalu Ljubljana prisotna z izborom pesmi iz njene antologije Samost. Ob vstopu na posamezna prizorišča nas njena lirična govorica – temačna in neposredna, drzna in iskrena vabi k refleksiji o nevarnostih politične hipokrizije, religijske dogme in nacionalistične nostalgije.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁, 𝗦𝘃𝗲𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶č 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗵𝗿𝗮 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝗹𝗮

Herbalist is a performance, a first-person narrative, a set of poems by Svetlana Makarovič, performed together with sound architect Aphra Tesla. The exchange between Svetlana’s poetry and Aphra’s work Psalms: Tod mit Vorteil, with an admixture of Slavic and Balkan folk songs, thematises existential and amorous confessions set in the role of the archetypal figure of the woman, who, as the central motif of the performance, is the bearer of knowledge and sanctification.

Svetlana Makarovič appears at the 36th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts with a selection of poems from her anthology Aloneness. Upon entering each venue, her lyrical voice, dark and direct, bold and sincere, invites us to reflect on the dangers of political hypocrisy, religious dogma and nationalistic nostalgia.
