Špela Frlic: Dekle, obljubljeno soncu // The Girl Promised to the Sun

Pripovedovalsko-glasbeni dogodek Dekle, obljubljeno soncu je nastal po istoimenski zbirki bosanskih, hrvaških, makedonskih, slovenskih in srbskih ljudskih pravljic, ki v ospredje postavlja dekleta in njihove strategije preživetja. Čudežne pravljice, uvrščene v zbirko, upovedujejo skrivnosten in pogosto nevaren svet, v katerem se dekleta lahko zanesejo le na lastno pamet, iznajdljivost in pogumno srce ter tu in tam tudi na kakšno prijazno starko, ki jim pride na pot. Na dogodku, na katerem je pripovedovanje Špele Frlic spretno prepleteno z glasbo, ki jo izvajata glasbenici All Strings Detached, si nastopajoče za rdečo nit jemljejo vprašanje enakovredne ljubezni, danih in prelomljenih obljub in (ne)zmožnosti srečnih koncev. Pripovedovalka in glasbenici najdejo učinkovit način njihove predaje mlademu in odraslemu občinstvu na skupnostnem dogodku sodobnega pripovedništva, ki ponovno vzpostavlja pretrgane medgeneracijske vezi med ženskami vseh generacij in njihovimi zavezniki.

The storytelling music event The Girl Promised to the Sun is based on the eponymous collection of Bosnian, Croatian, Macedonian, Slovenian and Serbian folk tales focusing on girls and their survival strategies. The miraculous tales in the collection narrate a mysterious and often dangerous world in which girls can rely only on their own wit, ingenuity and courage, as well as the occasional friendly old lady they encounter along the way. At this event, Špela Frlic skilfully interweaves her storytelling with music. The performers explore the topics of equal love, broken promises, and the (im)possibility of happy endings. The storyteller and the musicians find an effective way to engage young and adult audiences, re-establishing the broken intergenerational bonds between women of all ages and their allies in the process.
