Kustos razstave je 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐣.

V razstavni seriji 𝑃𝑟𝑒𝑝𝑖ℎ predstavljamo instalacijo intermedijske umetnice 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜́ 𝑨𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒋𝒂 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒂. Delo je nadgradnja filma 𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑐ℎ 𝐼 𝑚𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑣𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑑 (2025) in z metaforo duhov raziskuje izbris in odsotnost posameznic_kov ter naš odnos do njih.

🟠 Instalacija deluje kot forum, v katerem duhovi in zabrisane figure spregovorijo in z obiskovalci delijo svoje zgodbe. 𝐴𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑚𝑖𝑗𝑎 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑔𝑜𝑛𝑎 »obuja« figure nepravično pozabljenih in izbrisanih, birokratov, ki so zagrešili njihov izbris, in tistih, ki so zanje skrbeli.

🔴 V prepletu zgodb so predstavljene različne oblike odgovornosti in skrbi za figure, katerih prisotnost je uradno neobstoječa – od prvoosebnih pričevanj sorodnice o življenju z »duhom«, spominov medicinske sestre na skrb za »duha« do izpovedi uradnice o procesu izbrisa. Delo ne reproducira dominantnih narativov kot nevtralnih nosilcev zgodovinske resnice, ki racionalizirajo preteklo nasilje, ampak predstavlja marginalne zapise, šepete in bežne sledi figur, ki hkrati so in niso del družbe in ki so doživele (družbeno) smrt pred smrtjo samo.

🟣 Umetničine figure »strašijo«, ker izvirajo iz izključevalnih procesov polpretekle (slovenske) zgodovine in političnega nasilja, ki se vpisuje v arhive in izpisuje posameznice_ke iz skupne stvarnosti. Kljub temu pri preganjanju ne gre za ustvarjanje strahu pred preteklostjo, temveč za refleksijo o skrbi, odgovornosti in možnostih kolektivnega odziva na krivice, ki so bile storjene.

𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜́ (1997) deluje na področju intermedijske umetnosti in ustvarja instalacije, videe in besedila, v katerih se osredotoča na to, čigave pripovedi ostanejo, zbledijo in izginejo, ter na sile, ki vplivajo na njihovo (ne)vidnost. Diplomirala je iz kiparstva na ALUO v Ljubljani (2020) in magistrirala na smeri TransArts na Univerzi za uporabne umetnosti na Dunaju (2025). Razstavljala je mednarodno, med drugim v RAVNIKAR, osmo/zi, Galeriji Škuc in Galeriji P74 v Ljubljani, Mestni galeriji Nova Gorica, v Kunstverein Gartenhaus, Mumok Cinema, VBKÖ in na viennacontemporary na Dunaju, v Muzeju sodobne umetnosti v Zagrebu, Out of the Blue Cinema v Parizu, bb15 in na festivalu AMRO v Linzu ter v aqb v Budimpešti. Dvakrat je bila nominirana za Nagrado skupine OHO (2023, 2024). Trenutno je gostujoča umetnica v programu Scuola Picola Zattere v Benetkah.

The exhibition was curated by 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐣.

The 𝐷𝑟𝑎𝑢𝑔ℎ𝑡 exhibition series presents 𝑨𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝑯𝒂𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈, an installation by intermedia artist 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜́. The work builds on the film 𝑌𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑐ℎ 𝐼 𝑚𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑣𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑑 (2025), using the metaphor of ghosts or phantasms to explore the erasure and subsequent absence of people and our attitude toward them.

🟠 The installation functions as a forum that gives voice to ghosts and blurred figures so they can share their stories. 𝐴𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑚𝑦 𝑜𝑓 𝑎 𝐻𝑎𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 “conjures up” the figures of the unjustly forgotten and erased, of the bureaucrats responsible for their erasure, and the people who took care of the erased.

🔴 Presented in the entwined stories are the various forms of responsibility and care for the figures whose presence is officially nonexistent – from a relative’s firsthand account about living with a “ghost,” to a nurse’s reminiscences of caring for a “ghost,” to an official’s testimony about the process of erasure. Instead of reproducing dominant narratives as neutral vehicles of historical truth that rationalise historical violence, the work presents notes in the margin, whispers and fleeting traces of figures that both are and are not part of society, having experienced (social) death before death itself.

🟣 Bojanić’s figures “haunt” us because they have fallen victim to violent exclusionary processes in recent (Slovenian) history and political violence, impacting archival records and purging individuals from collective reality. Haunting, though, does not create fear of the past, but invites reflection on care, responsibility and the possibility of a collective response to the injustices that were done.

𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜́ (1997) is an intermedia artist whose practice explores erasure, neglect and the politics of (in)visibility, focusing on how narratives and images persist, fade or disappear. She holds a BA in Sculpture from ALUO Ljubljana and an MA in TransArts from the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Bojanić has presented her work internationally through exhibitions, screenings and performances at venues including RAVNIKAR, osmo/za, Škuc Gallery and P74 in Ljubljana, City Gallery Nova Gorica, Kunstverein Gartenhaus, Mumok Cinema, VBKÖ and viennacontemporary in Vienna, Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, Out of the Blue Cinema in Paris, bb15 and AMRO in Linz, and aqb in Budapest. In 2023 and 2024, she was nominated for the OHO Young Visual Artist Award. She is currently a fellow at Scuola Piccola Zattere in Venice.
