PALESTINSKA KARAVANA (PL): Glasovi kulture, spomina in odpornosti

Palestinska karavana je srečanje palestinskih glasov z različnih geografskih območij, ki so pogosto razdrobljena in nepovezana: Jeruzalem, Gaza, Zahodni breg, begunska taborišča in globalna diaspora.
Karavana v tem kontekstu prvič združuje kulturne delavce, umetnike in pedagoge, ki nosijo različne življenjske izkušnje Palestine, a si delijo skupno zavezanost ohranjanju njenega kulturnega spomina.

Ta delegacija predstavlja več kot le raznolikost znotraj kulture; predstavlja kontinuiteto kljub razdrobljenosti. Vsak udeleženec je nosilec podedovanega znanja, bodisi s hrano, glasbo, plesom, pripovedovanjem zgodb, izobraževanjem ali kulturnim udejstvovanjem. Njihova prisotnost v Sloveniji ni le dejanje kulturne izmenjave, temveč tudi dejanje ohranjanja praks, glasov in tradicij, ki so se v Palestini ohranile skozi generacije kljub razseljevanju, političnemu prelomu in nenehnim tveganjem kulturnega izbrisa.

V tem smislu lahko vsakega člana delegacije razumemo kot varuha kulturnega spomina. Njihovo delo ni nostalgično, temveč aktivno in živo: kuhanje, ki ohranja kolektivno zgodovino, vezenje, ki prikazuje identiteto, glasba, ples in pripovedovanje zgodb, ki nosijo osebno in kolektivno resnico, ter raziskovanje in aktivizem, ki prevajata žive izkušnje v javno znanje in dialog. Skupaj prinašajo skupno sporočilo, ki temelji na odpornosti, dostojanstvu in kulturni kontinuiteti.
Palestinska karavana vabi slovensko družbo, da se poveže s Palestino ne le skozi njeno politično realnost, temveč tudi skozi bogastvo njenega vsakdanjega življenja in kulturne produkcije. Je povabilo, da smo priča temu, kako kultura preživi, ​​se prilagaja in še naprej govori čez meje, skozi generacije in skozi razmere, polne velikih izzivov.

PALESTINIAN CARAVAN: Voices of Culture, Memory, and Resilience

The Palestine Caravan is a gathering of Palestinian voices from across geographies that are often fragmented and disconnected: Jerusalem, Gaza, the West Bank, refugee camps, and the global diaspora. For the first time in this context, the Caravan brings together cultural practitioners, artists, educators, and community leaders who carry different lived experiences of Palestine, yet share a common commitment to preserving its cultural memory.
This delegation represents more than diversity within culture; it represents continuity under fragmentation. Each participant is a bearer of inherited knowledge, whether through food, music, dance, storytelling, education, or civic engagement. Their presence in Slovenia is not
only an act of cultural exchange, but also an act of preservation of practices, voices, and traditions that have been sustained across generations despite displacement, political rupture, and the ongoing risks of cultural erasure.

In this sense, each member of the delegation can be understood as a guardian of cultural memory. Their work is not nostalgic, but active and living: cooking that preserves collective history, embroidery that maps identity, music and dance that carry social meaning, storytelling that holds personal and collective truth, and research and activism that translate lived experience into public knowledge and dialogue.
Together, they bring a shared message rooted in resilience, dignity, and cultural continuity. The Palestine Caravan invites Slovenian society to engage with Palestine not only through its political reality, but through the richness of its everyday life and cultural production. It is an
invitation to witness how culture survives, adapts, and continues to speak across borders, across generations, and across conditions of profound challenge.

Entry fee at the door is 15€. All profits from this event will go for the artists and their community innitiatives.
