Razstavo je zasnovala dolgoletna članica in nekdanja programska vodja Mesta žensk, kuratorica in kritičarka sodobne umetnosti Dunja Kukovec. Zavezana regionalnemu prostoru nekdanje Jugoslavije v trialog postavlja Almo Gačanin (Sarajevo), Jeleno Sokić (Zagreb) in Stello Ivšek (Ljubljana). Alma Gačanin se predstavlja z risbo in performansom, Jelena Sokić s slikarskimi deli in zvočno lirično intervencijo, ki jo je ustvarila v sodelovanju s Tomislavom Vrečarjem, Stella Ivšek pa je za razstavo zasnovala intermedijsko instalacijo. Ideja razstave je zasnovana na »preznojenih konceptih« feministične teoretičarke Sare Ahmed (Living a Feminist Life, 2017) ter na konceptu »revolucionarne ljubezni« antropologinje in feministične teoretičarke Sarah Ihmoud (On Love, the Palestinian Way: Kinship, Care and Abolition in Palestinian Feminist Praxis, 2024). Razstava skozi poudarek na likovnih veščinah med drugim išče meje mišljenja, čutenja in percepcije. V delih treh umetnic relacije med intimnim in javnim, osebnim in kolektivnim, analognim in tehnološkim postanejo prvinska orodja za radikalno drugačno prihodnost. Ikonografija ljubezni se uteleša kot brezsramno mišljenje, neodtujljivost senzualnih teles in vztrajno negovanje temeljnih odnosov. Kot zapiše kuratorica: »Nismo eno, toda delimo si skupno.«

Slikarsko prostorsko kompozicijo ob otvoritvi spremlja zvočno-lirična intervencija Jelene Sokić, sestavljena iz kitarskih rifov in ljubezenskega speva avtorja Tomislava Vrečarja. S sinergijo slike, prostora, zvoka in besed Ognjeni obroč ustvarja atmosfero za radikalen razmislek, svojski dialog in čustveno povezanost.

Večer pa bo zaokrožil koncert zasedbe Duo Lume, ki združuje umetniška svetova harmonikarice in skladateljice Merime Ključo ter pevke Jelene Milušić. V komorni zasedbi glasu in harmonike prepletata glasbeno izročilo z različnih koncev sveta z avtorskim ciklom Merime Ključo. Raznolik kulturni izvor in jezikovna razvejanost repertoarja odpirata prostor, v katerem se tradicija nenehno preobraža v dialogu s sodobno senzibilnostjo. Njun glasbeni svet, s katerim ustvarjata gledališko atmosfero, se giblje od dramatičnih in melanholičnih razpoloženj do igrivega, skoraj kabaretskega zaključka.

Vodstvo po razstavi bo izvedeno tudi 7. 10. ob 15.00 (v angleškem jeziku) ter 15. in 23. 10. ob 18.00 (v slovenskem jeziku). Razstava bo na ogled do 28. oktobra.

The exhibition was conceived by Dunja Kukovec, a long-time member and former programme director of the City of Women, as well as a curator and critic of contemporary art. Focusing on the region of the former Yugoslavia, she brings together Alma Gačanin (Sarajevo), Jelena Sokić (Zagreb) and Stella Ivšek (Ljubljana) and puts them in a trialogue. Alma Gačanin presents her work through drawing and performance; Jelena Sokić through paintings and a lyrical sound intervention created in collaboration with Tomislav Vrečar; whilst Stella Ivšek has created an intermedia installation for the exhibition. The concept behind the exhibition is based on the »sweaty concepts« of feminist theorist Sara Ahmed (Living a Feminist Life, 2017), as well as the concept of »revolutionary love« developed by anthropologist and feminist theorist Sarah Ihmoud (On Love, the Palestinian Way: Kinship, Care and Abolition in Palestinian Feminist Praxis, 2024). The exhibition accentuates artistic skills that explore the limits of thinking, sensing and perception. The works of three artists explore the relations between the intimate and the public, the personal and the collective, and the analogue and the technological as pristine tools for a radically different future. The iconography of love is embodied through ruthless thinking, the inalienability of sensual bodies, and the persistent nurturing of core relationships.

The painterly spatial composition at the opening is accompanied by a lyrical sound intervention, comprised of guitar riffs and a love song by the artist Tomislav Vrečar. Through the synergy of image, space, sound and words, the Ring of Fire creates an atmosphere for radical reflection, a unique dialogue and emotional connection.

Duo Lume brings together the artistic worlds of concert accordionist and composer Merima Ključo and singer Jelena Milušić. In this chamber ensemble of voice and accordion, they interweave musical traditions from different corners of the world with Merima Ključo’s original compositions. The diverse cultural origins and linguistic richness of the repertoire create a space in which tradition is constantly transformed through dialogue with contemporary sensibilities. Through their musical work, they create a stage atmosphere that ranges from dramatic and melancholic to a playful, cabaret-like conclusion.
