LAIBACH: MI KUJEMO BODOČNOST (WE FORGE THE FUTURE)

Kot zaključek razstave AUSSTELLUNG! LAIBACH KUNST: K.I.E.F.E.R. bo v petek, 4. septembra ob 20. uri, v portoroškem Magazinu Grando nastopila skupina LAIBACH s posebnim programom »Mi kujemo bodočnost (We Forge the Future)«.

Leta 1983 je Laibach v okviru XII. glasbenega bienala v Zagrebu prvič predstavil ta znameniti program. Nastop je sprožil močne javne in medijske odzive ter pripeljal do uradne prepovedi delovanja skupine v Sloveniji in Jugoslaviji, ki je trajala vse do leta 1987.

Za posebno izvedbo v Magazinu Grando bo Laibach program »Mi kujemo bodočnost« obogatil tudi z novimi interpretacijami izvirnih skladb, povezanih z začetki skupine in načrtovanim koncertom iz leta 1980. Te skladbe so bile kasneje izdane na albumu »Sketches of the Red Districts« (GOD Records, 2023).

As the closing event of the exhibition AUSSTELLUNG! LAIBACH KUNST: K.I.E.F.E.R., the band LAIBACH will perform their special programme “Mi kujemo bodočnost (We Forge the Future)” on Friday, 4 September at 8 PM at Magazin Grando in Portorož.

“Mi kujemo bodočnost” (“We Forge the Future”) was the title of Laibach’s historic performance, first staged on 23 April 1983 as part of the 12th Music Biennale in Zagreb, Croatia, then still part of the Yugoslav federation. The performance triggered a fierce public and media campaign against the group, followed by an official ban on Laibach’s activities in Slovenia and Yugoslavia, which remained in place until 1987.

For their special performance at Magazin Grando, Laibach will enrich the programme with new interpretations of original songs connected to the early beginnings of the group and the planned concert in Trbovlje in 1980. These songs were later released on the album “Sketches of the Red Districts” (GOD Records, 2023).
