Razstava K’r iz lufta ponuja prvi celovit vpogled v dvajsetletno ustvarjalno delovanje celjskega umetnika Jureta Cvitana. Na njej premierno predstavljamo tudi izbor iz njegove najnovejše produkcije – obsežne slikarske serije Slike za ozadja, ki nastaja od leta 2022. Od svoje prve samostojne razstave leta 2006 do danes je Cvitan ustvaril raznolik opus. Primarno se posveča slikarstvu, vzporedno pa glede na kontekst posameznega projekta uporablja tudi druge izrazne prakse, zlasti akcijo, intervencijo in performans v javnem prostoru, pa tudi instalacijo, skulpturo in umetniško knjigo.
Razstava združuje izbor njegovih ključnih slikarskih del, ki predstavljajo njeno osrednje jedro, ter izbrane performativne in druge projekte. Skupaj razkrivajo temeljne poudarke njegovega ustvarjalnega delovanja: preplet osebnega in družbenokritičnega, nekonvencionalen pristop k mediju slike, ki presega njegove tradicionalne okvire, ter izrazito intenzivnost, ki prežema tako njegov vizualni jezik kot sam proces nastajanja umetniškega dela.
Ta se kaže tudi v pogosti rabi pristopov z elementi presenečenja in nepričakovanega.

Opening of the overview exhibition of Jure Cvitan

The exhibition entitled Out of the Blue offers the first comprehensive overview of the twenty-year creative career of Celje-based artist Jure Cvitan. The exhibition also showcases a selection of works from his latest production – the extensive series of paintings entitled Painting for Backgrounds, which he has been developing since 2022. Since his first solo exhibition in 2006, Cvitan has created a diverse body of work. His primary focus is on painting, though depending on the context of a particular project, he also uses other forms of expression, particularly artistic action, intervention, and performance in the public space, as well as installation, sculpture, and the artist’s book.
The show brings together a selection of his key paintings, which form its core, as well as selected performances and other projects. Together, they uncover the fundamental tenets of his creative practice: an intertwining of the personal and the socially critical, an unconventional approach to the medium of the painting that transcends its traditional boundaries, and a distinct intensity that permeates both his visual language and the very process of creating the artwork. This is also evident in his frequent use of approaches that incorporate elements of surprise and the unexpected.
