Judovska kulturna dediščina in spomin na holokavst v Debrecenu – razstava

Pred drugo svetovno vojno je deset odstotkov prebivalstva Debrecena izviralo iz judovskih korenin; bili so vključeni v skupnost in so z bistvenimi prispevki bogatili življenje mesta. Od dvanajst tisoč ljudi, deportiranih leta 1944, se jih šest tisoč ni vrnilo, veliko preživelih pa si je izbralo novo domovino. Danes je judovska skupnost v mestu druga najštevilčnejša v državi (približno tisoč ljudi), takoj za Budimpešto. Ohranjeno stavbno dediščino (npr. sinagoge) skupaj negujeta mesto in skupnost; danes niso le pomembna prizorišča judovskega verskega in skupnostnega življenja, temveč tudi kulture Debrecena, kjer se redno odvijajo koncerti, gledališke predstave in razstave, v maju pa skupaj prirejamo Dneve judovske kulture. Posebna pozornost v mestni politiki spomina je namenjena večstoletni judovski kulturni dediščini – znotraj tega stavbni dediščini (izstopa delo arhitekta Istvána Sajója, ki ga sedanja razstava predstavlja ljubljanski publiki) ter spominu na holokavst, s poudarkom na programu Dialog Éve Fahidi, ki se je pred dvema letoma začel v sodelovanju z mestom, z judovsko skupnostjo ter z več nemškimi in avstrijskimi partnerji.

Jewish cultural heritage and Holocaust remembrance in the city of Debrecen – Exhibition

Before World War II, ten percent of the population of Debrecen was of Jewish origin; they were integrated members of the community and enriched the city’s life with important contributions. Out of the twelve thousand people deported in 1944, six thousand did not return, and many of the survivors chose a new homeland. Today, the city’s Jewish community is the second largest in the country after Budapest (approx. one thousand people). The surviving architectural heritage (e.g., the synagogues) is jointly cared for by the city and the community; today they are important venues not only for Jewish religious and community life, but also for Debrecen’s culture, hosting regular concerts, theatrical performances, and exhibitions, and every May we jointly organize Jewish Cultural Days. Special attention is given in the city’s memory policy to the centuries-old Jewish cultural heritage—within this, the architectural heritage (highlighting the work of architect István Sajó, which the current exhibition presents to interested visitors in Ljubljana)—as well as the memory of the Holocaust, focusing on the Eva Fahidi Dialogue Program, which was launched two years ago in cooperation with the city, the Jewish community, and several foreign German and Austrian partners.

Zsidó kulturális örökség és Holokauszt-emlékezet Debrecen városában

Debrecenben a második világháború előtt a lakosság tíz százaléka volt zsidó származású, akik a közösség integráns tagjai voltak, fontos hozzájárulásokkal gazdagították a város életét. Az 1944-ben elhurcolt tizenkétezer emberből hatezren nem tértek vissza, s a túlélők közül nagyon sokan új hazát választottak. Napjainkban a város zsidó közössége a második legnépesebb az országban Budapest után (kb ezer fő). A fennmaradt épített emlékeket (pl a zsinagógákat) a város és a közösség közösen gondozza, ma nem csak a zsidó hit- és közösségi életnek, hanem Debrecen kulturájának is fontos helyszínei, rendszeresek a koncertek, színi előadások, kiállítások, minden év májusában Zsidó Kulturális Napokat rendezünk közösen. Kiemelt figyelmet kap a város emlékezetpolitikájában a több évszázados zsidó kulturális örökség, ezen belül az építet örökség (ebből is kiemelkedik Sajó István építész munkássága, amit a mostani kiállítás mutat be a ljubljanai érdeklődőknek), valamint a Holokauszt emlékezete, ennek fókuszában a város, a hitközség és több külföldi, német és osztrák partner együttműködésében két éve elindítottuk a Fahidi Éva Párbeszéd Programot.
