Na zadnjem letošnjem koncertu iz cikla Keltika se bosta predstavili dve slovenski zasedbi, Hamlet Express ter Luka Gluvić in Zasedba, ki gojita samosvoj pristop k modernemu šansonu, kantavtorstvu in uglasbeni poeziji. Kvartet Hamlet Express sestavljajo glasbeniki, znani iz drugih zasedb raznorodnih žanrov od rocka do jazza, vodi pa ga pesnik in avtor vseh skladb ter besedil Andraž Polič. Kvartet, ki deluje več kot 20 let, svoj izraz imenuje »izvirna zmes šansona in jazza z avtorskimi besedili« ter »fusion glasbenih stilov na relaciji Pariz–Istanbul«. Zasedba, ki je leta 2024 objavila šesti album Fantom svobode, je tudi odigrala Poličevo glasbo za več gledaliških predstav. Luka Gluvić, čeprav besedila piše in jih zapoje v slovenščini, črpa iz tako imenovane americane, žanra, ki je v sebi zaobjel številne ameriške sloge, od tradicionalnega folka in bluesa prek rocka do countryja. Kot svojega vzornika navaja leta 1997 preminulega kultnega kantavtorja Townesa Van Zandta, znanega po tenkočutnih in melanholičnih pesmih. Gluvićev raskav glas, skupaj z aranžmaji, spominja tudi na zgodnji izraz Toma Waitsa. »Gluvić se je v zadnjem slabem desetletju povzpel na sam vrh našega samospevskega Parnasa in s seboj prinesel še izročilo t. i. americane, glasbene zgodovine juga ZDA,« je v recenziji minialbuma Jaz nisem ta napisal Matej Krajnc.

The last concert of the Keltika series this year will feature two Slovenian bands, Hamlet Express and Luka Gluvić in Zasedba (Luka Gluvić and the Band), which cultivate their own unique approach to modern chanson, singer-songwriting and poetry set to music. The Hamlet Express quartet consists of musicians known from other bands of diverse genres from rock to jazz, and is led by the poet and author of all songs and lyrics, Andraž Polič. The band, which has been active for more than 20 years, calls its music “an original mixture of chanson and jazz with original lyrics” and “a fusion of musical styles on the Paris-Istanbul route”. Hamlet Express, which released its sixth album Fantom svobode in 2024, has also performed Polič’s music for several theater performances. Although Luka Gluvić writes and sings his lyrics in Slovenian, he draws from the so-called americana, a genre that encompasses many American styles, from traditional folk and blues to rock and country. He cites the cult singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt, who passed away in 1997 and was known for his sensitive and melancholic songs, as his role model. Gluvić’s husky voice, along with the arrangements, is also reminiscent of the early style of Tom Waits. “In the last decade or so, Gluvić has climbed to the very top of our singer-songwriter Parnassus and brought with him the tradition of so-called Americana, the musical history of the US’s South,” wrote Matej Krajnc in his review of the EP Jaz nisem ta.
