Samostojna razstava This Must Be the Place predstavlja izbor fotografij, ki jih je Dino Kužnik ustvaril v desetih letih življenja v New Yorku. Skozi spontane posnetke prijateljev in nočnega življenja, ulično fotografijo ter premišljene minimalistične kompozicije razstava sledi spreminjanju njegovega odnosa do mesta, od neposredne osebne izkušnje in opazovanja vsakdanjega življenja do izrazitejše kritične distance. New York se v fotografijah vzpostavlja kot prostor, ki je hkrati domač in tuj, prostor vsakdanjega bivanja in pripadnosti, pa tudi družbenih neenakosti in protislovij sodobnega urbanega življenja. This Must Be the Place tako odpira vprašanje, kaj pomeni nekam pripadati in kako se skozi čas spreminja naš odnos do prostora, ki ga imenujemo dom.

The opening will take place as part of Šiška Open and will begin with an artist-led tour of the exhibition.

The solo exhibition This Must Be the Place presents a selection of photographs created by Dino Kužnik during the ten years he spent living in New York. Through spontaneous photographs of friends and nightlife, street photography, and carefully considered minimalist compositions, the exhibition traces the evolution of his relationship with the city, from direct personal experience and observations of everyday life to an increasingly pronounced critical distance.

In these photographs, New York emerges as a place that is both familiar and foreign: a place of everyday life and belonging, but also one marked by social inequalities and the contradictions of contemporary urban life. This Must Be the Place thus raises questions about what it means to belong somewhere and how our relationship with the place we call home changes over time.
