Kaj naredi predstavo zares izstopajočo? Na to vprašanje nimam odgovora – imam pa veliko drugih vprašanj.

Ali lahko premišljeno oblikovanje zvoka in svetlobe prizor ponese v nebo?
Ali lahko nekdo vodi predstavo, ne da bi stopil_a na oder?
Kje je meja med tehniko in režijo?
Kako lahko usmerjamo pogled gledalca_ke?
Je lahko improvizirana tehnika improviziranemu gledališču to, kar je montaža filmu?
LED ali halogenske luči?
Kaj sploh je DMX signal?
Rdeča žica na modro žico?

V dveh dneh se bomo dotaknili_e teh vprašanj – in odprli_e nova. V ospredju bosta tehnično razumevanje in umetniške odločitve. Igralec_ka je lutka, tehnik_ca je lutkar_ica. Če želiš stopiti v svet tehnične kabine, če te zanima tehnologija gledališča, če želiš postati igralec_ka in režiser_ka zgolj s pomočjo zvoka in svetlobe ali pa preprosto uživaš v pritiskanju gumbov iz ozadja – potem je ta delavnica zate.

Delavnica temelji na dveh glavnih sklopih.

Prvi sklop je učenje tehničnih osnov z nekaj teorije. Udeležencem_kam pokažem vse »organe«, ki sestavljajo anatomijo improvizirane tehnične postavitve.

Za tiste, ki so v tehniki čisto novi_e: spoznanje, da to ni črna magija – potrebni so le možgani in roke.

Za tiste, ki že nekaj vedo: poglobitev znanja, več besedišča, razumevanje, kako vse deluje skupaj, in nekaj trikov iz mojega skrivnega žepa.

Drugi sklop je posvečen temu, kako dati svoje oči in srce občinstvu. Raziskovali_e bomo umetniške možnosti, ki jih tehnika odpira. Preko različnih iger bo vsak_a našel_a svoj način izražanja s svetlobo in zvokom ter postal_a režiser_ka prizora.

Delavnica ni namenjena le tistim, ki se želijo ukvarjati s tehniko v improvizaciji – koristna je tudi za igralce_ke, ki želijo bolje razumeti, kako igrati s svetlobo in zvokom na odru. Običajno se je udeležijo improvizatorji_ke, včasih pa tudi profesionalni_e tehniki_ce – in to je povsem v redu. Prilagodim se različnim ravnem znanja.

​Antoine Noirant je eden izmed vidnejših oblikovalcev luči na francoski gledališki sceni, zadnja leta pa se vedno bolj uveljavlja tudi na mednarodnih odrih. Je tehnični direktor večih festivalov uličnega gledališča in improvizacije v Franciji, prav tako redno sodeluje z impro gledališči v Švici. Vsakodnevno deluje v več lyonskih gledališčih ter sodeluje s številnimi kolektivi. Sam pravi, da trenutno stoji na stičišču tehnike, oblikovanja luči in ustvarjanja avtorskih predstav. Leta 2018 je soustanovil kolektiv Le Mal du Siècle, katerega poudarek so imerzivne, site-specific in hibridne oblike gledališča s sodobno estetiko. Poleg oblikovanja luči za raznovrstne gledališke predstave, oblikuje luči tudi za glasbene dogodke.
Redno poučuje in se dodatno izobražuje in dopolnjuje svoje znanje. Ko ni za mešalno mizo, izdeluje tudi scenografijo za predstave ter vodi namestitve tehnične opreme v neinstitucionalnih gledališčih.

What makes a show stand out? I have no answer to this question, except more other questions.
Can an appropriate sound and light design push a scene to the sky?
Can someone lead the show without being on stage?
What is the border between tech and directing?
How can we lead the eye of the spectator?
Can the improvised tech be what the editing is to a film?

During these two days, we will address these questions and ask new ones. Technical understanding and artistic choices will be in the spotlight. The actor is a puppet, the stage manager is the puppeteer. If you are looking to put a foot in the world of technical control, if you want to learn more about the technology of the show, if you want to become an actor and director with only sounds and lights, or if you simply like to push buttons in the shadows, this workshop is for you!

More details about this workshop
In this workshop, we’ll be working on two main things.
The first is teaching the technical basics, with some theoretical parts. I show all the organs that compose the anatomy of an improv technical set up. Several levels of knowledge and experiences: several levels of purposes.
For the newborn in tech: seeing that it is not black magic, you just need a brain and hands.

For those who already know more: going further with more vocabulary, knowing how everything works together, and picking some magic tricks out of my bag.
The second thing that we work on is giving your eyes and heart to the audience. We’ll try to open the artistic possibilities that the tech can do. We do several games for everybody to find out how they can express themselves with light and sound and become the director.
This workshop is not only for the people who want to do tech in improv, it’s also useful to learn how to play on stage with light and sound. I’m used to having improvisers, but sometimes there are some professional technicians, and that’s fine! I adapt myself to the different levels of the participants.

Antoine Noirant is one of the prominent lighting designers on the French theatre scene, and in recent years he has been increasingly establishing himself on international stages as well. He is the technical director of several street‑theatre and improvisation festivals in France, and he also collaborates regularly with improv theatres in Switzerland. He works daily with several theatres in Lyon and collaborates with numerous collectives. He says that he currently stands at the intersection of technical work, lighting design, and the creation of original performances. In 2018, he co‑founded the collective Le Mal du Siècle, which focuses on immersive, site‑specific, and hybrid forms of theatre with a contemporary aesthetic. In addition to designing lights for a wide range of theatre productions, he also provides light design for musical events. He teaches regularly and continues to expand and refine his knowledge. When he is not behind the mixing desk, he also builds scenography for performances and oversees the installation of technical equipment in independent theatres.
