Javni potniški promet je pomemben del sodobne družbe ter odraz tehničnega razvoja, inovacij in spreminjajočih se potreb prebivalstva. Tudi mestni promet v Ljubljani ima bogato zgodovino. V dobrem stoletju se je mesto iz okolja, v katerem so prevladovali vozovi in konjske vprege, razvilo v sodobno prestolnico, usmerjeno v trajnostno mobilnost. Danes ljubljanske ulice zaznamujejo hibridni in električni mestni avtobusi, razvita mreža parkirišč P+R ter druge trajnostne prometne rešitve.

Razstava združuje izbrane arhivske fotografije mestnega vsakdana iz fototeke Muzeja novejše zgodovine Slovenije in zasebnih zbirk ter izvirne tehnične načrte vozil Ljubljanskega potniškega prometa (LPP), ki jih je izdelal Jožef Trpin. Fotografije ter tehnični načrti trolejbusov in avtobusov obiskovalca popeljejo skozi zgodovino javnega mestnega prometa: od prvih javnih avtobusnih linij prek obdobja trolejbusov do uveljavitve rednega avtobusnega prometa. Razstavo dopolnjujejo krajša besedila o tehničnih značilnostih vozil in zanimivostih iz vsakdanjega življenja, ki so povezana z razvojem prometne politike ter opozarjajo na urbanistične spremembe, ki so pomembno oblikovale podobo Ljubljane in kakovost življenja njenih prebivalcev.

Muzej novejše zgodovine Slovenije je osrednja državna muzejska ustanova za raziskovanje, ohranjanje in predstavljanje slovenske zgodovine 20. in 21. stoletja. S svojimi zbirkami, razstavami in raziskovalnim delom osvetljuje pomembne zgodovinske dogodke, družbene spremembe ter vsakdanje življenje ljudi. Muzej obiskovalcem približuje preteklost skozi predmete, fotografije, dokumente in osebne zgodbe ter tako ustvarja prostor za razumevanje dediščine, ki oblikuje našo sedanjost.

Public passenger transport is an important part of modern society, reflecting technological development and innovation, as well as the changing needs of the population. Ljubljana’s urban transport also has a rich history. In just over a century, the city has evolved from being dominated by carts and horse-drawn carriages to becoming a modern capital committed to sustainable mobility. Today, Ljubljana’s streets are characterised by hybrid and electric city buses, a well-developed network of P+R car parks, and other sustainable transport solutions.

The exhibition brings together a selection of archive photographs of everyday city life, sourced from the photo library of the National Museum of Contemporary History of Slovenia and private collections, as well as original technical drawings of Ljubljana Public Transport (LPP) vehicles, created by Jožef Trpin. These photographs and technical drawings of trolleybuses and buses take visitors on a journey through the history of urban public transport: from the first public bus lines through the era of trolleybuses to the introduction of regular bus services. Short texts on the technical characteristics of the vehicles and interesting facts from everyday life related to the development of transport policy complement the exhibition, highlighting the urban planning changes that have significantly shaped the image of Ljubljana and the quality of life of its residents.
