V Avtonomni agentki, ki se iz izvirne postavitve v boksarski telovadnici preseli v fitnes, prostor discipline, tekmovalnosti ter urjenja telesnih zmogljivosti in samopreseganja, Alma Gačanin med intenzivnim fizičnim naporom izgovarja intimno besedilo o spolnem sramu in sramu revščine. Sram razume kot enega temeljnih mehanizmov discipliniranja telesa. Ko svoje telo žene do skrajnih meja fizične vzdržljivosti, avtonomijo preizkuša v soočenju z razredno pogojeno vzdržljivostjo, kompromisi preživetja in tihim nasiljem patriarhalne matrice, ki od ženskega telesa nenehno zahteva prilagajanje in samodiscipliniranje. V dialogu z razstavo Območje visoke napetosti se Avtonomni agent izriše kot vaja v avtonomiji. Postopno rahljanje ponotranjenih mehanizmov discipliniranja postane praksa določanja lastnih načel delovanja ter s tem gibanje proti svobodi, ki jo je treba vedno znova izumljati.

In Autonomous Agent, which relocates from a boxing gym to a fitness centre – a setting associated with discipline, competitiveness, physical training, and self-transcendence – Alma Gačanin delivers an intimate monologue about sexual shame and poverty while engaged in intense physical exertion. She views shame as a fundamental mechanism for disciplining the body. As she pushes her body to the limits of physical endurance, she tests her autonomy against class-determined endurance, survival compromises and the silent violence of the patriarchal matrix, which constantly demands that the woman’s body must adapt and exercise self-discipline. In dialogue with the exhibition Power House, Autonomous Agent emerges as an exercise in autonomy. Gradually loosening internalised mechanisms of discipline becomes a way of defining one’s own operating principles and, with it, a way of moving towards freedom that must be reinvented time and again.
